West Somerset Steam Railway

The West Somerset Steam Railway is Somerset's biggest tourist attraction and is the longest steam railway in England with ten stations from Bishops Lydeard- a mere two miles from The Treehouses to Minehead on the West Somerset coast - perfect for Fish and Chips and Ice Cream and a walk along the prom - read on for more info -

The West Somerset Steam Railway  has got to be one of our top days out here at The Treehouses!  With one of the end terminus stations only 2 miles away it is a perfect day out.  In fact lots of guests buy the weekly Freedom of The Rail pass to allow them to use the railway as and when they want.

As there are ten stations along the line you can get off and explore a different village or town and there are some lovely walks between stations.  Two favourites of mine are between Blue Anchop Bay and Dunster along the seafront and also between Washford and Watchet along the old Mineral Line.

There are lots of special events and you can see details of these on the website.
